Halloween Treat Bags!

I just finished making a ton of these cuties!  Good thing my daughter had the bags stuffed already!

I thought I'd snap a few pictures to show you how I did it.  I know there are many ways to do this, but this is what worked for me!  I started with $1.00 Halloween baggies from Dollar Tree.  These are the supplies you will need:

The next thing I did is cut my black paper to fit the width of the baggie.  My baggies were 6" wide.  I then folded it over in half and slipped it over the top of the baggie.  You can use a bone folder for a crisp fold or just use your fingers to fold.

Staple the baggie to the folded bag topper.

Add a strip of paper to cover the staples.  The width will be the same as the bag topper.  You can make the strip as fat as you like.  Mine was just big enough to cover the staples and for my girls to write who it's from.

Now you are ready to glue the printed Happy Halloween circle to the scallop punched paper.  I got the cute printable HERE.  Glue or use tape runner to attach the circle to the front of the bag and you're done!

Happy Halloween!!!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month!  I am LOVING all of the pink items in stores this month!  I am also loving that a portion of each purchase is going to support the cause.  My 8 year old daughter was really excited when I brought home the pink bag of chips last night!

Isn't the dish scrubber cute?  She has pink hair and a pretty face!  The girls & I named her Sally... so now Sally washes the dishes!  ha!

10 Steps to an easy peasy poodle skirt!

Hello Everyone!  Just wanted to post a super quick way to make a poodle skirt for Halloween!  Not sure it's the right way, but it worked for me!  Here's the steps:

1 - Measure the length of your little one from the waist down to where you want the end of the skirt to fall.  Measure her waist too.
2 -  Purchase felt in the color you want.  I got mine at JoAnn's & used a coupon.  Go ahead and grab some ribbon, elastic, and a poodle iron on applique while you are there!
3 - Lay the fabric out flat on the floor.  Cut large piece to a square.  Find the center by folding in half and then half again.  This is where you will cut out the circle the size of her waist.  I just cut a little piece out to mark the center and then unfolded it.  I then used a pencil and a tape measurer and went around in a circle from the center marking with pencil where I wanted to cut out for the waist. 1/2 the waist measurement since marking from the center.
4 - Cut out the circle in the center for the waist.
5 - Now cut out the outside circle (bottom of the skirt.  Use the measurement you took from her waist to the where you wanted the bottom of the skirt to fall for this.  Measure all the way around, marking with a pencil as a cut guide.  Pencil line should look like a big circle.
6 - Cut out the bottom of the skirt.
7 - Sew on the stretch elastic to the waist.  I cut the elastic 3 inches smaller than her waist so that it would fit nice without falling down.  You will need to gather the felt a little as you go.
8 - Iron on the poodle applique.  You can stitch around it if you want to... I didn't.  I know...I'm lazy like that.
9 - Sew on the ribbon (leash) for the poodle.  You can use liquid stitch if you want.
10 - Step back and admire your work!

All done!  I told you it was easy!  I'm all about doing things the quick & easy way!

I finished our Christmas cards!!

I have been a busy little girl making our Christmas cards!  Since I am not teaching this year, I decided to make my own.  I questioned my decision about half way through, but I kept going and finished!  I love how they turned out!

I'm thinking about having our family pictures taken and putting a black & white one on the inside.... Not sure if I will get that done or not!

Yummy Sugar Cookie Fun!

Cookies are everywhere!!!  These were so super simple to make...  I bought two tubs of sugar cookie dough, rolled it out, cut out the shapes and baked.  See, super easy so far.  Keep reading.    Next I used Wilton ready to use cookie icing.  I put some of it aside to tint pink for the details.  I piped the edges and then filled in the middle.  Let it dry and then added the details with the other colors.

Everyone thought they were from scratch homemade..... hehehehehe!  I love it!

I LOVE to bake!  Over the last year I have started making and decorating sugar cookies for my girls parties.  It is so much fun, but did I really need to add another thing to my list of hobbies???  Yes!  I made these for my oldest daughter's birthday party and they were a huge hit!

Because no little girl needs a boring school binder!

Presley and I had a fun time last night making her a new binder for school. Her old one was falling apart!!!  She picked out the colors and helped with the Cricut. She learned a lot about how to use it!  I love having a little crafting buddy!

As I was tucking her in bed last night she told me she had a fun time crafting with me...love it. I think we will be doing a lot more crafting together from now on!

I think it turned out soooooooo caaauuuuuttteeee!
